Leonard S. Sender, M.D. received his medical education in South Africa at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and completed his pediatrics internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. His pediatrics hematology/oncology subspecialty training included the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Sender is board certified both in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. His professional interests are strongly centered on the diagnosis, treatment, and epidemiology of adolescent and young adult cancers. Dr. Sender is currently Medical Director of the Cancer Institute at Children's Hospital of Orange County; Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty Division Chief of Oncology; and Medical Director of Clinical Oncology Services at the UC Irvine Medical Center's Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Sender has developed the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Program at CHOC and is recognized as an advocacy pioneer in young adult oncology.
William L. Wagner, Treasurer of the Board
William L. Wagner is the Director of Finance for the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, an internationally acclaimed dance company, where he oversees all fiscal, human, and administrative matters of the organization. William previously served as the Managing Officer, Operations & Business Development for the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) where he provided oversight of day-to-day operations and spearheaded business development and strategic initiatives. His passion for creativity and the arts led him to a 12-year career in modern dance prior to joining NYFA. His international performing arts career was primarily with the Mark Morris Dance Group. While performing with this troupe, he developed an arts-in-education project with Yo-Yo Ma, performed with other internationally acclaimed artists, and taught modern dance throughout the United States and Europe. William received his MBA from Cornell University in 2007 and BA from The State University of New York at Purchase. He currently lives in Westchester County, New York with his wife, Anne, and son, Thomas.
Stacey Owens, Secretary of the Board
Stacey Owens is Owner/Executive Producer of Nearby Socket Entertainment, where she creates new brands for reality television. In 2004, Stacey was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. She spent her junior and senior years of college not only fighting for good grades, but also fighting for her life. Stacey joined i[2]y in July of 2007, after meeting Matthew Zachary on the set of Lifetime's Side Order of Life, where she was a production assistant. A year after joining i[2]y, Stacey was appointed as the co-chair of the LA chapter. In 2009, Stacey was promoted to West Coast Regional chair, where she was in control of every state west of Texas. At the ripe old age of 24, being appointed as a regional chair was the highlight of Stacey's career. Now, Stacey not only joins the organization as a member of the board, but as the Director of Volunteer Services, where she serves as the point of contact for volunteers across the country. When Stacey is not spending her time on her i[2]y duties, she can usually be found horsing around at the barn with her horses. Stacey resides in Los Angeles with her two dogs George and Bam Bam.
Jennifer Owen, Officer of the Board
Jennifer Owen is an attorney specializing in clean energy technologies and energy policy. Jennifer joined the Board in December 2010, a year after her husband's death from Stage IV esophageal cancer, a rare cancer in young adults. From 2007-2008, Jennifer served at the Department of Energy as Director of the Office of Technology Advancement and Outreach in DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), where she led EERE's communications with Congress, other federal agencies, the media, stakeholders, and consumers. Before joining DOE, Jennifer was a Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Conrad Burns (R-MT) and a staff member on the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Matthew Zachary was a 21-year old college senior and concert pianist en route to film school when he lost use of his left hand, was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer, told he'd likely never perform again and given a 50/50 chance of surviving. Sixteen years, four albums, a wife, twins and scores of concerts later, Matthew's struggle to get busy living has inspired countless thousands. Today, he is an award-winning recording artist, performer, as well as an accredited thought-leader in nonprofit management, public health and youth culture, an authority on social media and a highly credentialed and sought after public speaker. A founding member of the original Google Health Advisory Council, he launched the I'm Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation, in 2007 as a social bullhorn to raise awareness that his own generation of young adults, a largely unknown group in the war on cancer, accounted for 72,000 new diagnosis each year. Young adults also represent a generation that has not seen improvements in survival rates when compared to other age groups. Matthew has a BA in Music, Computer Science and Sociology from Binghamton University and currently lives with his wife and twins in Brooklyn, NY.

Lisa Bernhard is a multi-platform content creator, whose experience in national media includes her roles as on-air Entertainment Correspondent for the Fox News Channel and Deputy Editor of TV Guide. She has interviewed Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Ellen Degeneres and Rosie O'Donnell, among many others, and reported live from major national events, including The Oscars, Emmys and American Idol. Her numerous television appearances include: Today, The View, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra, CNN, MSNBC and VH1. Along with noted writers and actors such as J.K. Rowling, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet and Maya Angelou, Lisa contributed a personal essay to the 2006 book "Becoming Myself: Reflections on Growing up Female." A 14-year young adult breast cancer survivor, Lisa currently serves as co-host and co-producer of The Stupid Cancer Show, and has hosted, scripted and produced an original online video about young breast cancer survivors for Self.com. Kenneth Kane, VP, Operations
Kenneth J. Kane has been coding since the age of 13 and began a career as a pharmacy technician at the age of 15. In addition to is pharmacology skill sets, he also has extensive experience in social media integration, web technology, graphic design, CRM platform design/implementation and corporate operations. During his undergraduate at Farmingdale State College in the Fall of 2009, Kenneth was brought on as an intern through the organization's Long Island chapter to help with local community organizing, event development and CRM integration. Over time, he became evermore increasingly involved assisting in local, regional and national events, fundraising, program development, grant writing, operations and nonprofit management. In the Summer of 2010, he was hired full-time as VP, Operations and now oversees the organization's technology development, community outreach, social media integration, CRM and CMS management, internship programs and fiscal oversight. A young adult personally affected by cancer through the diagnosis of family members and friends, Kenneth has spoken on behalf of the organization at numerous local and national events, such as the 2010 OMG! Cancer Summit, 140 Character Conference Long Island, Health2.0 NYC, The Center For Nonprofit Success Social Media Summit and the National Coalition of Oncology Nurse Navigators.
