GIVE TO i[2]y

i[2]y strives to be a national leader in cancer advocacy and community support, working exclusively on behalf of adolescents and young adults affected by cancer. With your generosity, we will continue to provide hope, restore dignity, build community and empower millions of survivors around the globe.

Want to really know where you money goes and how it specifically impacts the lives of the young adult cancer community? Well, in lieu of a general donation (which we always love), consider supporting any one of our specific programs and know that your contribution is being directly applied to helping us achieve our mission. Thank you in advance for permitting us to keep the ship afloat.

Gift plans create opportunities for both our donors and the foundation. Determining what gift is right for you is just as important as making the gift. There are many options from which you can choose. The correct plan for you balances what you wish to accomplish for yourself, your family, and your charitable interests in your overall estate and financial plans.

PLANNED GIVING PROGRAMS LET YOU

  •   leave a legacy in your name or that of a loved one
  •   receive guaranteed income through a charitable gift annuity
  •   reduce your taxes
  •   put assets to work with a charitable remainder trust
  •   leverage your giving by purchasing a life insurance policy
  •   provide for your heirs by funding a charitable lead trust.

SUGGESTIONS ON A BUDGET

A gift in your will or revocable living trust. Known as a bequest, this form of giving is accomplished simply by including a few sentences in your will or living trust.

A gift that provides you with income for life. Through a life income gift, you provide us with assets. In return, we agree to provide you, and other individuals if you choose, with income for life. After your lifetimes, we use the remaining balance to carry out our mission. A gift of your IRA or retirement plan assets. You can name the I'm Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation as the primary or contingent beneficiary on the plan's beneficiary designation form.

IRA ROLLOVER EXTENDED

The $700 billion Financial Rescue Package (H.R. 1424) signed into law by President Bush includes a two-year extension of the IRA Rollover provision. The provision will be made retroactive to Jan. 1, 2008, and will apply to gifts made from that date through Dec. 31, 2009.

The provision exempts from taxable income any funds transferred ("rolled over") from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a charitable organization. The following limitations apply:

  •   the donor must be age 70½ or older
  •   the cap on annual IRA rollovers is $100,000
  •   contribution must be a direct gift as opposed a specifically planned donation

100% of all net proceeds from all revenue directly fulfill our mission to empower young adults affected by cancer. What does that mean? Your support enables us to:

  •  Build new and organize existing support communities
  •  Deliver routine "stupid cancer" social support programs
  •  Organize and host the annual OMG! Cancer Summit
  •  Produce The Stupid Cancer Show each week
  •  Maintain and upgrade our website and other digital assets
  •  Support medical education initiatives and do grand round tours
  •  Print and ship our support literature internationally
  •  Exhibit year round at trade shows, conferences and expos
  •  Set up booths at hundreds of community cancer events
  •  Administrate national grassroots awareness efforts

And... some of our money goes to cover related operational expenses (trademarks, legal, rent, travel, PR, toner, pushpins) so the lights, heat, printers and computers go on when we flick the switch. ;-)

We are happy to open our books and share our financials with anyone.
